Can I transfer funds in between Skipton accounts?
You can transfer to any longer term notice account or to a longer term bond within the same currency. However, you cannot move from one bond to a longer term bond as your funds are locked in once the 14 day cooling period has ended.

Is there any charge for making a deposit into a Skipton account?
No, Skipton International does not charge you for any incoming payments.

Are there any charges for withdrawing funds to my nominated account?
We have two payment methods available when you request a withdrawal. The first is by BACS and takes up to three working days for cleared funds. There is no charge for this service. Alternatively we can offer a CHAPs payment. This ensures the funds will be in your account on the same working day provided the instruction is received by Skipton before 12pm on a working day. The fee for this service is £25.00.

We offer a range of USD savings accounts, but no other foreign currencies.

No we can only pay out to an account in your name.

Yes, you will be required to serve the “x” amount of days before your funds become available for withdrawal.

What is a nominated account?
A nominated account is the beneficiary account we hold on file for you in the event of a withdrawal from Skipton. This account must be held at a Bank or Building Society and must be in your own name.

Can the interest rate change once the account has been opened?
Yes, on all of our access and notice accounts the rates are variable. Only our Fixed Rate Bond’s guarantee the rate.

Can an interest rate change in a bond?
No, this is a fixed rate bond and the rate will not change until maturity.

Am I responsible for declaring the interest I earn on my account to my local tax authority?
Yes, you are responsible for declaring any interest earned with Skipton. Skipton will only pay interest gross and never deduct tax at source.

What is a One Time Password?
This is a password that is valid for only one login session, you will need this to access Skipton International Online. The One Time Password is generated through the HID Approve App or Hard Token.

Yes, the app works abroad but be careful as data charges may be added, please check with your provider.

Are there different ways of logging into the HID approve app?
Yes, the HID Approve App supports facial and fingerprint recognition. This can be used in place of a 4 digit passcode. To do this:
1. Open the App and click the three horizontal lines in the top right hand corner;
2. Click 'Enable Touch ID' or 'Enable Face ID';
3. Enter your 4 digit passcode and click 'OK'.Touch ID or Face ID has now been enabled.

Yes. Three weeks before your Fixed Rate Savings Account is due to mature, you will receive a document generated email confirming you can now give your maturity instructions. If you view your Fixed Term Savings, 'Maturity Options' will show in the Action column if it is available.

How do I know when a maturity statement is available?
You will receive an email advising that a document is waiting for you.

My product is nearing maturity, what are my options?
Prior to your current mortgage rates maturing you will receive a communication from Skipton International advising you of the current mortgage rate. Simply tick the box on the form, and send it back to us. If this is completed before the 23rd of the month prior to your maturity we can switch your product a month earlier. A letter will be sent in the post to you if you have not selected a product via the email. This will take place in the first week of your maturity month.
If no product is selected then you will be switched to our standard variable rate, the interest rate will be featured on the list of available products. The advantage of the standard variable rate is that you will not receive an early redemption charge and you have an unlimited overpayment allowance, subject to terms and conditions.
