To apply for a grant from the fund you must be a non-profit organisation, looking to carry out a project in the Channel Islands to benefit the local community.

To apply for a grant from the Fund you must be a non-profit organisation, looking to carry out a project in the Channel Islands to benefit the local community. A project may take the form of an event, exhibition, or fund-raising scheme. Applications for grants up to £5,000 will be considered. The total budget of your proposed project should not exceed £20,000.

The Skipton Community Fund committee meet on a quarterly basis to review applications. Applications are currently in review. You can apply now until 15 April 2024 to be considered for the next quarter of funding. 

Please note that the committee's decision is final once reviewed and voted. Please provide as much information as possible to ensure the committee is able to make a sound decision. We ask that you give descriptive details of costs, goals of the project and future expectations for fundraising in order to complete a larger project.


Skipton is unable to provide grants to any of the following:

  • Commercial organisations, galleries, enterprises, and exhibitions with a commercial slant or individual artists’ commercial projects.
  • Projects serving only specific sectors of the community based on ethnic, racial, political or religious grounds.
  • Projects that may be construed as discriminatory.
  • Projects with no community element.
  • Projects which contradict Skipton International’s brand values.
  • Appeals for funding of projects which are not based in Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Herm or Sark.
  • Appeals towards running costs including rent or wages.
  • Projects aimed at restoration or upkeep of buildings.
  • Appeals for holidays, residential trips or overseas travel.
  • There must be at least three months from the date of your application to your proposed project.

Should you be successful in receiving a grant, you are agreeing to Skipton International publicising the event on their website and social media platforms at their own discretion.

DATA PROTECTION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Applications cannot be assessed without your signed agreement to the below terms and conditions.

1.

(a) information provided to Skipton International (the “bank”) by me/us will be stored on the bank’s computer system and entered manually;

(b) for the purposes of the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 (the “Data Protection Law”) and other relevant data protection legislation which may be applicable, the bank is required to specify the purposes for which it will hold personal data. The bank will only use such information for the purposes set out below (collectively, the “Purposes”), being to:

(i) process my/our personal data (including special category data) as required by or in connection with my/our application to the bank including as the case may be, processing personal data in connection with credit and or money laundering checks on me/us;

(ii) communicate with me/us as necessary connection with my our application to the bank’s community fund;

(iii) provide personal data to such third parties as the bank may consider necessary in connection with my/our affairs and generally in connection with my/our application to the bank or as the Data Protection Law may require. (v) process my/our personal data for the bank’s internal administration.

(vi) utilise statistics provided to the bank concerning events, costs, funding and accounts contained in the application for the purposes of preparation of accounts and public reports.

2. In providing the bank with information, I/we hereby represent and warrant that I/we have obtained the consent of any data subjects other than myself/ourselves to the bank holding and using their personal data for the purposes other than the purpose set out in paragraph (v) above (including the explicit consent of the data subjects for the processing of any sensitive personal data for the purpose set out in paragraph 1(b)(i) above) and that I/we will use my/our best endeavours to obtain the consent of the data subjects to the bank holding and using personal data for the processing of any personal data for the purpose set out in paragraph 1(b)(v) above.

3. All applications will be retained by Skipton International for a period of three years for the purpose of tracking repeat applications and ensuring fairness in allocating funds across the community.

4. For the purposes of this application form, “data subject”, “personal data” and “sensitive personal data” shall have the meanings attributed to them in the Data Protection Law.
