One night. Lasting change.

Join us on Friday 23 January 2026 at the King George V (KGV) Memorial Playing Fields, Guernsey

Spend one night outside to help raise awareness of homelessness in Guernsey and support practical solutions that give everyone a place to call home.

The Big Skipton Sleep Out, in support of Caritas Guernsey, brings islanders together in an act of empathy and solidarity. By sleeping out, you’ll help fund safe, secure modular homes, restoring dignity and independence to those who need it most.

The event is open to participants aged 16 and over.

Why it matters

1 in 64 people in Guernsey lack access to secure housing - a higher rate than in the UK.

While traditional routes to home ownership aren’t accessible for some, we’re working to help create practical solutions that bring people closer to safe, stable housing.

Every pound raised goes towards Caritas’ modular housing project, providing real shelter and a new start for islanders in need.

In January 2025, 150 people took part and raised more than £40,000, including £6,000 from the Scouts and Guides pre-event. Together, we’re building something lasting.

Corporate teams: make it your company challenge

The Big Skipton Sleep Out is an ideal way for your business to show community leadership while giving your team a shared experience they’ll never forget.

Sleeping out for one night won’t solve homelessness but it will help fund modular homes that give islanders safety, stability, and dignity. By taking part, your company becomes part of that change.

Why take part as a team?

  • Build team spirit: It’s a unique, purpose-driven experience that brings colleagues together outside the office.
  • Demonstrate values: Show customers and employees that your business stands for more than profit.
