How to apply for an offshore savings account
Skipton International offers attractive offshore savings accounts to residents of the Channel Islands, and customers in over 100 countries worldwide.
You do not need to be a British citizen to apply. We provide accounts in pounds sterling and US Dollars. Before applying, please check that you are not a resident in one of the countries we do not support.
Step 1: Choose the right account
We offer a range of offshore savings products, including:
Variable rate accounts – easy access and notice accounts.
Fixed rate accounts – sterling accounts with fixed interest until maturity.
All interest is paid gross, without tax deduction. You are responsible for declaring interest earned to the relevant tax authorities. If you have recently moved overseas, we recommend seeking independent tax advice.
For details on maturity dates and notice periods, visit our Offshore Savings and USD Offshore Savings pages.

Step 3: Gather supporting documents
To comply with international regulations, we must verify your identity. This includes:
- Proof of ID (e.g., passport)

See the verification of identity section in the application form for acceptable documents. Existing customers do not need to re-validate unless details have changed.
Ensure documents are properly certified by a competent individual.
Step 4: Decide how to deposit funds
We accept deposits via electronic transfer (BACS, CHAPS, SWIFT).
Please wait until your account is opened and you receive your account number before transferring funds. Transfers made before this will be returned.
