Skipton International has been shortlisted for two more national awards, this time in the communications field.

In January of this year, the inaugural ‘The Big Skipton Sleep Out’ took place, which involved over 150 Guernsey residents turning out and sleeping rough for the night under the stars. It was in aid of homeless charity, Caritas Guernsey, to help support their ambitions for an emergency modular housing community for the island’s homeless. In addition, 200 Scouts and Girl Guides also slept out for the cause.

It was hugely successful, raising over £36,000 for the charity and raising awareness of the plight of homeless individuals sleeping rough on even the most affluent of islands.

The Big Skipton Sleep Out campaign is finalist in both the Chartered Institute of PR Excellence Awards 2025, and the Public Relations and Communications Awards 2025, which is testament to the hard work of Skipton’s Communications and events team, and Guernsey-based firm Orchard PR.

The results will be announced later this summer.
