COVID-19 Pandemic

Skipton International has implemented plans to maintain service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are closely monitoring and following the advice provided by the States of Guernsey Director of Public Health and other experts, plus taking additional measures as appropriate. Skipton is well positioned to ensure continuity of service to you.


New Customers

We are pleased to announce that we are returning to the Mortgage Markets in Guernsey, Jersey and UK with immediate effect.  Please find below a summary of the changes that have been made as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic:


  • Next Generation 100% mortgage has been removed from the market and regrettably is no longer available at this time.
  • Maximum LTV now stands at 90%
  • Affordability criteria has changed – please see the Guernsey Mortgage Calculator.
  • We are able to receive Professional Valuations from surveyors so can accept all residential mortgage applications including New Purchases, remortgage and further advances
  • Bonus and Overtime income is no longer accepted 


  • Next Generation 100% mortgage has been removed and regrettably is no longer available at this time.
  • Maximum LTV now stands at 90%
  • Affordability criteria has changed – please see the Jersey Mortgage Calculator.
  • While we are able to receive professional valuations from Jersey surveyors, the demand is high, along with stricter rules regarding the inspecting of properties, which is causing delays to the service. Please contact a member of the Jersey Mortgage team on 01534 509501 for further information.
  • Bonus and Overtime income is no longer accepted


  • Maximum 70% LTV
  • 110% rental tolerance has been withdrawn from the market
  • Maximum number of properties for Portfolio Landlords reduced to 5.
  • The previous offer of fee refund if your remortgage completes within 30 days has been withdrawn

For customers facing genuine financial hardship Skipton can support in a number of ways which may include periods of interest only payments and in certain cases short repayment holidays.

Skipton International Online  provides an attractive and easy to use online interface where you may check your account details, check deposits have been credited to your account, the interest rate being paid, make withdrawals to your nominated account (generally customers set up their current account) or make and receive secure messages.

If you are uncomfortable with using internet based banking services we also offer a telephone option providing similar functionality to Skipton International Online, but obviously without the secure messaging feature. Telephone banking will be maintained throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
